I went on this giant fun wooden and tarp water slide like 7 times. I went with Zachary, it was in his ‘hood, and I had a most wonderful time. We also had our fortunes told by a giant multimedia skull.

The scull didn’t mention it, but I know that tonight is the start of classes. My class tonight is Soviet History, and it’ll be from 4:50 to 6:30 after which I run off to my radio show from 7 to 8 every Monday night for the next while.

Morning blog posts are weird, now that I’ve completed this I need to eat breakfast, prep lunch and engage in morning absolutions. (Not necessarily in that order.)

Watching this video is just like studying for soviet history, da?

my mother is in Peru
or rather, she is currently in flight to get there
I think she’ll have fun

now I have my own room
I always had my own room as a child
it wasn’t until I left home
that I had to share
not these past few days
and it’s weird
it’s strange all this space I call my own
the empty desk I haven’t moved
this strangely big bed

this is a very big change
I acted like nothing was going on while I was at work
I just don’t want to talk about it
and so I didn’t
but my brain was oatmeal mush
but that’s okay, I found jobs perfect for my mental consistency

I’m so happy for Arthur
he’s going to do incredible things in Portland
he’s going to learn and grown and love
it’s strange, that I won’t be there with him
that this relationship I had with him
that it’s over
that we’ve broken up
it didn’t feel like a break up
it did feel like heart break
it was wonderful in that I didn’t feel guilt
it wasn’t my fault he left
he just needed to go
and it wasn’t because he didn’t love me
it wasn’t because I didn’t love him
just sometimes life is very very big
and things change and shift
and realities stop aligning

my reality is different
my room is different

I love the Kansas sky
I missed it
now was just the right time to be here
I head back to NYC now

and tomorrow I work
that makes me wish I had more sleep while I was here
but who needs sleep
when you have people

off to the airport I go!

I visited 3 museums today
on top of a day of gov docs training
it was interesting
I learned things
it was nice

now I’m sitting in a DC public library
I was hoping to find free wifi
I didn’t find it
but I found a quiet place to sit
and to type
and that was very nice

I went to the postal museum at lunch
just a bit
it was fun
I learned stuff
and was impressed at the high quality of the exhibits
I feel like museums and disney land have more in common now than I remember them having when I was a kid

after training was over I ended up at the spy museum
it was awesome
but not free
but fun
but very full of people

after that I went to the Natural History museum
that was fun too
I saw the hope diamond
and I remembered seeing it when I was here when I was 13 or so
and I thought the same thing, huh, seems small
I don’t care much for diamonds
on the other hand
I had a hard time not buying a necklace I saw
it was hemitite and amethists

I collected rocks as a child
and hemitite is my favorite stone
I also like quartz
but I have a soft spot of amethists

I’m now trying to figure out what to do for dinner
on the one hand I could simply not eat
I don’t really want to
but I’ll be starving tomorrow if I don’t
my guts have been mad at me all day
not fun

I like DC
my feet hurt

I walk everywhere
I called my mother
she said I should take a taxi
strangely I kinda like the throbing in my feet
I do think I’d rather enjoy a massage

it’s much easier to consume non-consumables in nyc
to find a massage place in a random area that doesn’t seem like it would have one
here everything is very manicured

I’m going to explore the library now
see if there is wifi anywhere
no luck
this will be posted when I get back to Vicky’s place
the cousin of Arthur
she is awesome
and has not one, but two, awesome cats

the scene has shifted
from a Washington DC public library
to Vicky’s home
where a wonderful cat tries to get my attention, the bed calls for me, and the wifi lets me post

now, onward, to sleep and cat snuggles, but not necessarily in that order

while I am home I will miss the wedding of two beautiful friends here in NYC
but I will get to see family and friends in Kansas
and seeing as I’m feeling desperately homesick for Kansas sky, Kansas people and Kansas pie
I think it’s a good plan for me to go there

Life feels hectic
my mind won’t slow
things are changing and shifting
liquefying and solidifying
all around me
in a storm of adult like responsibilities and realities
it’s as terrifying as it is terrific

the next hope is over

Arthur and I had a fun date night
we went for Indian
we generally either go cheap or ‘fancy’
last night we went fancy
because fancy is air conditioned
and I am weak
Arthur doesn’t mind the heat
he doesn’t melt
or whine
I do
I melt
and I whine
and I go to work early and stay late
anywho
we had Indian
and it was delicious
and after
we went for ice cream
and not just any ice cream

we both picked a couple flavors
I had chocolate and peppermint
Arthur had eggnog with ginger and nutmeg
it was awesome

I found out about Lulu and Mooky’s from the site Zoomdoggle
which has a bunch of different fun stuff to go to NYC
which is also awesome

today it will probably not hit 100 again
this pleases me
